7 Mysteries Of The Bible: Bible Answers To Satanic Mysteries
Only the Bible answers the questions raised by the mysteries we have observed in Savannah-Hilton Head. The mysteries surrounding Savannah and Hilton Head Island are impossible to explain from the limited perspective of human experience. What About Ghosts? In the first place the Bible answers the question of “hauntings” or “ghosts” with silence. Biblically speaking ghosts do not exist. That is if we mean by ghosts the spirits of deceased human beings returning to haunt the scenes of their earthly existence.
“It is appointed unto man once to die,” writes the author of Hebrews, “but after this the judgment” (Heb. 9:27). The Bible describes the spirits of departed human beings as being held in captivity until the Great White Throne Judgment of God (Rev. 20: 11). They are not free to come and go as they please. The rich man who tormented Lazarus during his life begged to be released from Hades to go back and warn his brothers lest they too come to the place of torment, but his request was denied. “Between us and you there is a great gulf fixed,” said Father Abraham, “so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us” (Lk. 16:26). The 7 Mysteries Of God What the Bible does speak of over and over is demons and demonic activity. Demons are fallen angels who joined Lucifer in his rebellion against God (Rev. 12:9). This is (1) the “mystery of iniquity” (II Thes. 2:7) We cannot comprehend how Satan or Lucifer could exist one moment in heaven as a sinless angel at God’s right hand and in the next moment be transformed into the Devil who sought to raise himself above the throne of God (Is. 14:14).
Satan’s angels appear in many forms, even as “angels of light,” in order to deceive men into joining their rebellion against Christ. They might manifest themselves as UFOs, crop circles, departed loved ones, as ghosts, or in other forms. The objective is to keep the minds of men befuddled, confused, bewitched, looking for ultimate power in all the wrong places instead of at the throne of God. “Ever learning and never coming to the knowledge of the truth,” is the Bible answer to man's quest for knowledge apart from God. The Bible is a book of riddles -- more precisely parables. The Bible answer to the kingdom of Satan described above is (2) “the mystery of the kingdom of God.” The parables were spoken openly by Jesus, but only those with the gift of spiritual vision could understand them (Mk. 4:11). For the others, the Word of God’s truth and wisdom is planted in their hearts, but the Devil comes and snatches it away before it can bear fruit. This gift of spiritual discernment is not earned, but comes by the grace and sovereign choice of God. This (3) sovereign election of God is also described as a mystery in Rom. 11:25 as applied to God’s temporary rejection of Israel in favor of the gentiles. And yet God’s invitation extends to all: “whosoever will may come.” "Whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Rom. 10:13). All are invited to participate in the unsearchable riches of fellowship with God through Christ (Eph. 3:9). This (4) “fellowship of the mystery” is a communion of boundless love (Eph. 3:19) that is mirrored in the mystery of the union of husband and wife (Eph. 5:32). Paul took this to be “Christ and the church,” which is also called the “mystery of the seven stars” – “the angels of the seven churches” in Revelation 1:20.
The greatest mystery of all is (5) the “mystery of the gospel” (Eph. 6:19; Rom. 11:25), also described as “the mystery of the faith” in I Timothy 3:9). That is the mystery of how God the omnipotent Creator could Himself become a man in order to die in the place of mankind on the cross of Calvary. Man deserves death, condemnation and Hell by virtue of his rebellion, but God in love pays the penalty that His own justice demands. This is the Bible answer to the Fall of man. This is also described as the “mystery of godliness” in which “He [Christ] who was revealed in the flesh, was vindicated in the spirit, beheld by angels, proclaimed among the nations, believed on in the world, taken up in glory.” (I Tim. 3:19). And because Christ rose from the dead, His people also will rise at the last trumpet. This is the (6) mystery of immortality.
"Behold, I tell you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed -- in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality...then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory. The final mystery is the Bible answer to the manifestations of evil we have seen in and around Savannah and Hilton Head. The final book of the Bible, the book of Revelation, speaks of (7) “Mystery, Babylon the Great, the mother of harlots and of the abominations of the earth” (Rev. 17:5). Even though Satan’s doom was sealed by the cross of Christ, he remains a dangerous, but mortally wounded foe of all mankind. He still exercises an influence through the world system that stands in opposition to the advance of the Kingdom of God. His great passion is to deceive as many men and women as possible -- blinding them to the glorious inheritance that could be theirs -- until they die and it is forever too late.
